A poem about internal conflict concerning unspoken love for a long time friend.
Red Herrings.

What are we to see when those red herrings form their devilry.
False elusions to a goal undefined, or mocking laughs of irony.
So sadly understated aren’t the torments of the mind?
Paining thoughts of eyes of the sky, and nine lives for you and I,
But to never fret or wish to cry, may let the love fall out and die.

But as I march unto the wall, my tears wish only not to fall.
For the future may tell a nasty tale, of murder in the hall.
But is my fate to only fail?
It appears a certain inequity, viewing smiles from memory;
But hopes embellished in revelry, may end in a uncertainty

If I could speak my ways to you, would your conscience see you through?
I only hope for forever more that you might love me too.
And if I will, may I please implore?
That thoughts of me might arise, to the heart and to comprise;
The endless nights and heavy sighs, of a man without a prize.

The prize of a love for my dear, but the torments seem to burn and seer;
The willingness of my bravery and cowardice of my fear.
Will they not rise so gallantly?
Attainment of the riotous one, would bring life under the sun.
And it may seem a charade to some, but only I know what is not yet done.
