Cooking is my passion, and so is my husband of 30 years.
Dinner for Two

China white cabinets
Rich warm wood floors
Sparkling pots dangle
Hearty stew fills the air with aromas of
Rosemary, lamb, and oregano.

Savoring this future fortune, I
Inhale deeply of its steamy warmth.
Pressing a lock of hair off my moist forehead
I slice more onions as my eyes sting and tear.

I sneak a taste.

A few more grinds of pepper and
A sprinkle of salt
I strike a match and hear it sizzle
As my love and I are seated in the candlelight glow.
