My first and only attempt at poetry
Can’t seem to recognize your face,
Who's this stranger screaming at me?
Can’t find another love to fill your space.
I prick my flesh without a flinch,
What once was felt; need to keep in place,
A life time gazing high up at you,
Still sense your faint lingering trace,
Sun burns my eyes but still I gaze.

Feel abandoned as we part
Thick foliage between us,
Penetrating my littered heart.
Shadowed footprints vanish,
As we slowly walk apart,
Try to retrace myself,
Don’t know where to start.
Lost in our bitter feud.

Has too much been said to change?
I fade with each filthy slander,
Your latest twist is tearfully strange.
Try to stay out of sight,
But I’m always in your range,
Here we are and there you go;
Is there any love left to exchange?
Finally my patience breaks in pieces.

I’m forced to scream, ‘stop!’
‘You’ll let another loved one drop.’
But your anger just won’t hide,
Your bitterness builds inside.
Life long bond; torn in a week,
Want you back; it’s all I seek.
There's nothing left to repair,
Tell me; did you ever care?
Tantrums heard with new ears,
Eyes weep bloody tears.

Youth ticking away,
Eggshells rule my day,
Don’t get a say,
But still I stay.
