A high school friend many years gone, but never forgotten.
None who ever knew him could hate
that blonde haired, blue eyed boy.
Always quick with a joke
and rarely seen
without a cigarette dangling from his lips.

It was hard to believe him,
in and out of rehab like he was,
but this time it seemed real.
Without a pill in six months,
nor a drink to wash one down,
this time we wanted to believe.

Then, slipping
out of control that night
into the limestone wall,
he dazzled us all with a
blinding flash of his reality.

Man, that Shawn Fallon sure could party.
