A poem for My daughter Katie Elizabeth.
Little dove so soft and white
you came to me on the darkest night.
To lead me out and show me the light
and let me know there was hope in sight.

To guide me through the waters deep
and wipe away the tears I weep
To save me from the sins I reap,
you prayed the Lord my soul to keep.

There is a time to be born and a time to die
and sometimes God's timing we question why.
As I sat by the grave of my first born I began to cry
God opened his hand in heaven to let my little dove fly.

And when the day of your birth came to be
I opened my heart and my eyes to see
The little dove that God had set free
was Katie Elizabeth God's gift to me.
