For writer's cramp: children receive sweets from grandma
Just entered the door
Already tackled
Little arms excited to embrace again
Only a week but it felt so long
That I was away from them

My own mother waiting
As my children disentangle
To greet me again
The week was good as always
With grandchildren in the house

She laughs as I finally escape
Hands me a napkin for my face
Little brown kisses had found their way
Chocolate smiles of creamy delights
On their innocent faces

I’ll frown, but only for a moment
Normally sweets aren’t allowed
But it’s okay from their grandma
For years after they say goodbye
Hopefully memories will remain
Of chocolates and kisses
