1st Graders

2nd Graders

Great news! Your child has been promoted to second grade. Now let’s get your child ready for the challenge. Students in 2nd grade are required to read 70 wpm by the end of the school year, plus develop their comprehension skills. I offer one-on-one tutoring and/or small group instruction (max. 3 students) to develop the following skills:

3rd Graders

TAKS is one of the most important requirements in the state of Texas. Developing the basic skills and working towards more complex skills, in order for them to feel successful, is my goal for students. MATH 1st, 2nd, 3rd

Math requirements have come a long way. It’s not only to know the answer to 7+8. Students are now required to explain, demonstrate and analyze their answers; it’s all about the thinking process that goes into solving mathematical problems.

I will tutor on a one-on-one basis on math skills according to grade level utilizing concrete objects and hands on projects to relate to math problems. My job is to serve as a facilitator to guide students using their reasoning skills to explain how and why of their answers. Students will consistently construct their own knowledge through inquiry and experience.

RATES/RESOURCES:

*My rate is $24 per hour with a minimum of two hours (other tutors charge from $30-$50 per hour and even higher).
*Tutoring sessions will take place in a public library, unless an agreement has been established to meet elsewhere.
*Meet the Tutor session will be conducted with parents and child before starting the program at no cost where I will share my professional portfolio with you.
*At home tutoring will be considered only after several sessions have been conducted in a public library and at a higher rate.
*Materials or resources used during tutoring will be provided and discussed with parents beforehand.
*A diagnostic reading assessment will be given to determine student’s starting point.
*Weekly and hourly schedules will be discussed and arranged according to student’s and teacher’s availability.


SPECIALS:

$88 Flat Fee Rate – 4 day tutoring, one hour daily in a public library.

$122 Flat Fee Rate – 4 day tutoring, one hour daily in home (summer only)
