A new look into the life of a butterfly
So delicate
Her saffron color wings
That let her fly
Enjoy those few short days
For which she’ll be alive

Those few short days
Can’t be delightful
Just from the thought
Of all the thoughtless cold collectors
And innocent but foolish
Little children
Who curiously chase
That pretty little butterfly

That’s how she sees
The last moments
Of her short
So ignorantly ended life

Captivation’s printed on the face
Of the honored collector
As he sees the butterfly he so long searched for
And smugly he adds her
To his impressive butterfly collection

Proudly hung up
Is our butterfly
Neatly framed
The name of her impressive type
Proudly printed on the front

Of course there’s no description
To the delight of the collector
But has he ever wondered
Which amount of her life
Ever so short
Did she enjoy?
A day?
Perhaps an hour?

But how does that matter
To the proud and ignorant collector
Whose bright and grand collection
Is finally completed?
