Moments frozen in time like frames from an old movie, captured in their natural habitat.
A Moment in Time

The world is young and so am I. Wide four year old eyes miss nothing, especially a sparkling mote dancing in the sunlight, stardust caught just for me. Late summer sun’s rich gold molten streaming through the tall window across the room, a long and narrow dance floor but quite sufficient for the occasion. Swirling twirling up up, the joy of being new and young, freed from the crowd, the dust of earth no longer binding. Here, there, up up, swirling twirling. My facinated gaze follows, locked in this moment no one else can ever know.

The world is young and so am I. Seven year old eyes miss little, even the sparkling raindrops on the pane, growing, coalescing, building presence then slowly slowly falling twisting, streaming growing. This drop That drop This drop That drop, this moment, the joy of being new and young, all the world for me, shrinking focused into this singular moment. What will happen to this particular drop, newborn. Slowly, slowly this shining diamond changing growing, finally slowly falling moving coalescing streaming, this drop. Lifespan short then joined with others faster streaming moving. Where will it go, my raindrop? Sidewalk gutter stream creek river ocean what will it see, where will it end, will it evaporate and travel on the wind to see me again. My facinated gaze follows, locked in this moment no one else can ever know.

The world is older and so am I. Forty nine year old eyes miss some things, but special moments are treasured still. Many live only in memory; My bride’s beauty misted by tears and veil as she walks to me, My newborn son’s pulse against my lips as I kiss their hair, grasping my finger, rubbing noses, first steps, Christmas unwrapping for hours turn by turn, Winnie the Pooh and Smurfs and McDonalds PlayArea trips give way to hey daddy I’m home from school, lets roll cars and crash on the parquet floor. Sick days, girlfriends, birthday parties, graduations, college blur together in collage moving swifter faster streaming moving moving. Where did it go, my life? Where will it end, will it evaporate and travel on the wind to see me again? Locked in my heart, moments no one else can ever know.
