Letter home from Holiday.
This poem was part of my study. We had to write a rhyming poem based on a letter home when on holiday.

Letter Home

The weather on arrival was bliss
Even watching for it, I could see nothing amiss
I admit I was pleasantly confounded
When discovering your warnings were completely unfounded

Arriving at the hotel, everything supplied that I could think
It seemed right down to the kitchen sink
Unpacking was a breeze
It’s going to be two weeks of absolute ease

Listening to the forecast of weather
We’re due for several days of sun, said her
That is one thing I’ll better remember
To include in my first letter

Sitting down later to a lovely evening meal
The efficient staff, keeping the service on an even keel
All in all it was a wonderful start to the holiday
And tomorrow I’ve booked a ferry trip out on the bay.
