A poem for those who may need a friend.
I stood upon a grassy knoll watching the sky
Fluffy clouds rolled by as I pondered why
God, why do friends allow themselves to cry
Where do they go when they feel unwanted and shy

Can a friend say mean things and still be true
My mom told me to come out here and ask You
People sure are funny sometimes and so cruel
Like yesterday on the playground at school

I saw a little boy crying and asked him why
He said to go away because he was so very shy
I held out my hand to show him see that I cared
He ran away and I truly became so very scared

A butterfly wafted by and landed on my shoe
I knew then that it was an angel sent by You
I watched as it fluttered its' wings and flew
I wept, for it was my friend, now I am blue

I quit crying when I saw Your beautiful trees
I let my cares drift away upon the breeze
You are so forgiving up to the very end
I will still cry someday, yet now I have a friend
