not a visual perspective
I take my paint brush with me
Wherever I may go
In case I need to hide myself
So the real me does not show

I am so afraid to show you me
Afraid you will laugh,
Say things to be mean

I'd like to strip these coats of paint
Show you the real true me
I hope you will try to understand
To accept just what you see

Please be patient
As I take them off slow
Understand how much it hurts
To let the real me show

Only you I let see me
Naked, cold and scared
And still you love me
With all I have bared

Thank you for a love that is true
StilI I keep my paintbrush with me
Until I can love me too
