darkness has a mocking laugh. . .
Darkness

Outside, inside, enveloping my soul.

I run, and it keeps pace with me,

like a shadow I cannot escape.

Laughing it's hoarse laugh,

mocking my attempts to break free.

Somewhere out there, I know there's a light,

ahead of me, outside me, behind me, inside me.

Waiting to be found, yet not wanting to be found.

If I can reach that light, feel it's warmth,

I know the darkness will be outrun,

and its hoarse laugh a faint dying scream become .

But for now I search, for now I run,

meeting darkness at every turn,

it's laugh echoing at every corner,

mocking me. . .

mocking me. . .
