Mother's Day Poem
Over the years you’ve watched me grow
And taught me everything that a woman should know

Like how to walk and tie my shoe
And what a little girl should always do

My long brown hair you would always brush
Warm hugs and kisses as I wait for the bus
Dancing, gym and the battles with sis
Birthday parties with a candle wish

You taught me how to live and how to love
And the wonders of faith we should have above

You held my hand and wiped my tears
Guiding me through some of my roughest years

Broken hearts, broken dreams, in pain from head to toe
Making sure of your love I’d always know
Laughing, smiling and stories of joy
Lifting my spirits with trinkets and toys

Giving me strength when I had none of my own
Nothing but love and wisdom were shown

You stood beside me every step of the way
Knowing that I would be a woman one day

A family and children, and house to call home
Experience the love you have always known
The love of a parent, the love of a child
Sweet little sayings and acting wild

It is now that I understand the love you share
And fully appreciate how much you care

Through the love and faith that you have given me
I look to you and know who I want to be

A mother of love, a mother of strength, a mother always there
Waiting for the next moment that we both can share
The good, the bad and everything in between
All I need to know, from you I’ve seen

My memory of you is always caring for our needs
Never stopping to live and experience your dreams

Today is the day that I watch you grow
And admire the paths and the seeds you sow

CHT today, PhD tomorrow, who knows what will be next
Study guides, books, and training classes – there is no time to rest
Living life for no one but you
I have waited my whole life to watch you do

I love you, mom!
I can’t tell you enough and my words don’t do it justice
My love for you is undying and I am proud to be your daughter!

Today I celebrate you!
I honor and cherish everything that you do!
