Do you like moonbeams? I do.
I held a moonbeam in my hands .....

Oh, I held a moonbeam in my hand,
Felt it slip through my fingers,
Saw it slide past the window pane,
And then slither over the walls.

Oh! it was as soft as fairy silver!
And transcluent as thin air.
It shimmered and slithered in the darkness,
And went only God knows where.

Still for just one single moment,
I held it within my palm;
Saw it slide past the window pane,
And then slither over the walls.

Yes, I held a moonbeam in my hands.
You may call it midnight madness;
But I held a moonbeam in my hands,
Whether you believe it or not.
