These came from an overflow of thought mixed with a random touch of poetic inspiration.
Cry of a Lass’ Broken Heart

O’ my heart it cries out.
I seek Your help in these,
The hardest of times.
Praying and longing for a glimpse
Of joy and carefree happiness to
Once again my horizon line.

What pain is this?
The echoing gasp and death
Of my heart.
But wait! You are yet Lord.
You are there, and my soul!
O’ my soul is filled with an aching peace.
Yes, this too shall one day be
But a memory.
Yet what a miserably sweet memory you leave!

O’ Lord, guard my heart
That I should ever despair
To find You not there.
Thus a greater tragedy than this indeed.
For You alone, Lord,
It is You that I will always need.

AN: the above was inspired by a parallel story written by Liz Curtis Higgs called "Grace in Thine Eyes" it parallels the story of Dinah, the daughter of Jacob.

The next one comes from watching The Lord of The Rings trilogy. While not said to be intended allegory, I find it to be in many ways and thus I wrote of what it made me think of.

Only Then

When the suffering of men is still found hopeless
on the edge of a new dawn,
then is the world at its end.

For Light always brings new breath
with the slightest brush of
its sky-painter’s finger.
Life cannot help but thrive
as God mercifully brings another day
to a desolate earth.

Bright eyes find joy
in the coming of ‘morn;
disregarding the battles of yestreen.
And grieving hearts find a little more
room in which the Light
may penetrate a crushing darkness.

Always it has been,
as always He has been the King,
and always He will be.

When the suffering of men is still found
hopeless on the edge of a new dawn;
then is the world at its end.

AN: please tell me what you think, whether it be good or bad. I wish to know.
