A poem dedicated to two fine young race car drivers who lost their lives off the track.
A Poem for Brandon

The racing world grabbed his heart at an early age.
Now Brandon’s littler sister has joined the growing craze.
Las Vegas Motor Speedway is like their second home.
The Bullring stands and the pits are where they love to roam.

They weren’t born when Chris was hot;
Thank God they don’t recall the shot.
Trickle Racing’s not the same
But no one there’s forgot his name.

More than Chris has left us now;
Spencer’s joined the list.
It makes us want to scream and shout
And raise a shaking fist.

Tears flowed freely
No one ashamed they shed.
Each and every one of us
Stood and bowed our heads.

TJ in the Super Late and Candice in the Legend,
Tributes to their shining star who now resides in heaven.
“A Champion Forever” proclaims the billboard sign
Standing on the back stretch as a lasting shrine.

Crews and drivers balloons released along the finish line
Honoring this young driver whose character was so fine.
“Time to burn some Eagles,” the announcer said to cheers;
Against the wall the tires spun the sky no longer clear.

“It wasn’t me,” TJ said, “my foot's not on the pedal.
Spencer was my co-pilot he pushed it to the metal.”
We’ll miss these boys of that I’m sure
Until we join their NASCAR tour.
