Looking at the world in wonderment
Like a bird without wings I feel stagnated
Surrounded by what’s happening to me, castrated
Disbelief consumes me at the harshness and cruelty I see
I lie awake nights just trying to find the real me

I wonder what will be left for our children in the days to come
What opportunities will befall them, what they’ll become
It frightens me to think that we’ll destroy what shall soon be theirs
I wonder who’ll listen to the truth or who even cares

It seems that all I ever do is wonder
As our beautiful earth is being torn asunder
I speculate on what it would be like to truly be free
Wonder what’s become of all the possibilities

Again I feel helpless, a little defeated
A trifle confused, undoubtedly cheated
Anger erupts like a surging volcano
I know not what to do, I just don’t know

I wonder why sleep eludes me over what can’t be changed
I wonder if anything shall ever be the same
Have we made an irrevocable blunder?
Can we resolve this problem?…I can’t help but wonder
