A lover's lament....

Dying Hearts

I warned you not to let me in.
I told you what would happen.
I let you know with gruesome words
what I would do if you allowed me in.
That I would beg and weep for you to run
and then, as you finally listened to my words
I would catch you as you turned to go.

As the hunger that filled my body
overcame the feelings of my heart,
I sank my razor teeth
into the thick veins of your neck.

I cried crimson tears as I watched you die.
As I saw that luscious, scarlet blood
flow out from your wounded body.
I watched the light that
Once shined so brightly in your eyes,
darken and dim until it died,
along with my unbeating heart.
