What about us?
The goths, the punks, the pagans.
What about us?
What about our feelings?
Why do the same people, who stand up for the black and the overweight children, make fun of us?
What about us?
What makes it okay to dis us?
And not the others.
What about us?
Why must we suffer for your fun?
Why must we deal with the pain?
What about us?
Why can't we get help?
Why do those who are supposed to help us, think the same way?
What did we do to deserve this?
When did we ever put you down?
When did we ever call ourselves the things you call us?
You say Goths think only of themselves.
You say Punks are the link, between goth and a Picasso painting.
You say Wiccans worship the devil.
Did we ever say we did?
Then how do you know it's true?
What can you prove?
One thing.
You can prove we're different.
Different.
Are you not also different?
Yes.
You're different because we have something you never will.
We have each other.
So next time you see us.
Stop.
And think about what you're going to say,
Why you're going to say it,
And what we did to deserve it.
Maybe you do it, just because you can.
Just because those who are supposed to protect us don't.
Because they agree.
Next time you see us,
Stop.
And think, what about us?
Next time you see us,
Stop.
Think.
And before you go on,
Give us one thing.
An apology.
