Tragic poem
DADDY, CAN YOU HEAR ME?  (E)
Tragic poem
#1140527 by SHERRI GIBSON

Daddy can you hear me, I’m calling out your name
I was taken from you by this woman as a game
She forces me to pretend that I’m her child and have nowhere to go
But daddy please believe me when I tell you it’s not so
Daddy can you hear me when I scream out in my sleep?
The scars within my heart and mind forever I will keep
I’d try to escape her If I weren’t locked up in this room
All I want from you daddy is for you to rescue me soon
Daddy can you hear me cry out when she raises her hand to me?
She beats me consistently and makes my body bleed
She tells me I’m a bad boy and that I had better change
That I’d best get used to it because with her I am to remain
Daddy can you hear me, I’ll always love you so
My heart is yours eternally wherever I may be forced to go
I’ll keep thinking of you and hoping you’ll find me
As I keep on praying daddy, can you hear me?
I’ll continue praying until you come…daddy, can you hear me?
