it's hard to realize the real
You should have seen your face
as the doctor pointed out those
delicate tumor-birds in the sky.

That shock as you saw
the polyp flowers in bloom,
throwing off the allergic norm.

Don't you miss those days of yore,
when Walks were just walks
and heros weren't heroes for just living?

Blank stares and dead eyes
are all we get; for we are not dead,
just suddenly mortal.
