Words and idea came to me while shopping one day. Written in about 10 minutes.
Remember the day we met
At the Mart in aisle ten?
I waited for you there
Wondering where you had been.

At first glance, I was the one.
The only one for you, above the rest.
You looked me over, up and down
Side to side, I was one of the best.

We left together, just you and I.
I saw that beautiful smile on your face
As we traveled to your home.
I could hardly wait to get to your place.

For many months you were content
With me as I was with you.
After awhile, my life began to wane
But I remained faithful and true.

I lit up your rooms and your life.
I gave you comfort at night.
I had done everything to please.
What you did just wasn't right.

On a terrible day in May
You came home with another.
I grew sad and dim, because
I knew this wasn't your mother.

I was only a sixty, it's true
But I made you happy I thought.
But to my pain and despair
You replaced me with a 100 watt.
