something I wrote a while ago
Evermore (The window)

Bruised and beaten you crawl to the window
50 feet of anxious sweat
this was your last nerve, serving no purpose
50 feet of no regret
your light’s been blinking all this time
50 feet of wishes wrecked
No chance to lie just keep believing
50 feet of seconds left
All the while you wake up screaming
to the noise
She Can’t be breathing

entice me, invite me
I’ll see you at your grave site
slowly, slowly being lowered down
your face is etched with burn and brimstone
your hands are cold...

I told them once I saw what you did to yourself
She can’t be breathing
There was too much going on,
she couldn’t hear herself
She just couldn’t see
And her pillow told the story so well
she can’t be breathing

Rapture and intent on death
you stumble to the bathroom shower
Memories trapped inside the mirror
the glass wants to be broken clear
fog and notes pierce the walls
staining imprints in the stalls
the clues you left were so near

Evenings and happenings
your reasoning falls through the cracks
I wonder should I take it back
best of all you have no idea
that this has been a trick
All the while you wake up screaming
to the noise
she can’t be breathing
