God gives what man destroys, then God gives...

An
Evergreen,
tall and straight,
crowned by heaven,
shelters the quill
that roost in green branches.

Her roots grasp
spinning terra firma --
yet motionless,
gently rocks
with the invisible forces.

Majestic and proud,
she blindly battles
elements that sting the air.
Rain and hail, sleet and snow --
all relent against her strength.

Man, ignorant
of true beauty,
sparks her fall.
Charred memory
cedes the hull.

Below the ashes
an offspring arose,

a sapling from
good brown earth,
anointed by heaven.
