To make a dream come true
I take a pencil
withdraw the paintbrush
and draw the illusion
of a vision
in black and white
and blue

Feeling my face burn hot
I take an eraser
put down the cloth
to rub out my fears
of feelings
in need of
retouching you

Feeling the breath leave my chest
I exhaust the paper
having no canvas
and turn out the light
on you
my subject
before I'm rejected by you.
