a poem of a one-sided relationship
         Jealous Of Your Lies

         Your faithfulness is amazing,
Your devotion is steadfast and true,
You will fight ' till the death,
         To protect what you love,
And I feel the same way about you.

You said that you loved me,
         I gave you my heart,
You told me it always would last,
         So I worked very hard,
         To suppress all the pain,
The wounds and the scars from the past.

You said you believed we were soulmates,
         We'd be friends,
         Forevermore,
         So I took your words,
And I gave you my soul,
Then you turned, and you walked out the door.

Countless times, I gave you a chance,
To admit all the lies that you told,
You defended your lies with such passion,
You were heartlessly fervent and cold,

Now I wish that you'd love me,
         Like I still love you,
As I sit here, with tears in my eyes,
Or perhaps, you could give me,
         The faithful devotion,
You've given to all of your lies.
