A poem about watching my older brother graduate and knowing my time would come too.
For my brother and his friends
it has all come too soon
no more classes or
fun in the lunch room
it'll be silent by june,
before this year
in july
they would joke about
getting out of lincoln high
but now the time has came
they wanna cry and don't know why

our shining gold
has faded to brass
this has all came way too fast
it can never last,
i look at him
and laugh
thinkin my time will
never come to pass
but sadly, it's all to real
in two years
i'll know how it feels

years from now
we'll think of things
look down with pride
at our class rings
no one will care who
was king
high school will be
just another memory
