If I asked for a kiss,                              
I'd spoil this moment                              
as anxiety mounts                              
with anticipation.                              
Alone we sit,                              
sharing silence.                              

I was afraid of the quiet                              
before I met you.                              
Everything calm                              
unnerved me.                              

I roamed                              
to a place unknown,                              
undiscovered                              
and all my own,                              
when I was accosted                              
by the thought                              
of never sharing                              
this feeling.                              

The silence                              
is a part of me now.                              
Without balance,                              
you're the piece,                              
the slice that fits                              
this partly exposed core.                              

Fluttering wings cut                              
through our silent air;                              
startling me so,                              
I fall in love.                              
It takes my breath                              
and leaves me wonder,
