Something I jotted down while listening to the rain.
FROGS

Have you ever stayed awake and heard frogs after rain?
Their croaking goes on over and over again.
Like waves breaking over a sandy shore,
You lie there awake till you can stand no more.

Put your head 'neath the pillow to stifle the sound,
And then you can't breathe - out of bed you bound.
You'd shut all the windows but it's much too hot,
So you walk the floor and drink tea from the pot.

When morning arrives; it's a beautiful day,
The sun is ablaze, the rain's all gone away.
You should be outdoors but you'll sleep all day long,
After listening all night to the frog's constant song.
