Written for writer's cramp contest. Waking up with an Angel. Shakespearean Sonnet.
The sunlight on my face brings me around
And slowly I awake to see the morn.
My eyes flicker and then I hear a sound.
I sit up quick and then my day is born.
I look through blurry eyes and think I see
An angel sitting pretty by my side.
I wonder what could bring this boon to me
And as I do, her eyes just open wide.
Her arms reach out and hold me very tight.
I blink back tears of joy and hug her back.
This day is certainly starting off right,
For bringing joy this angel has the knack.
For the last ten years of this thing called life,
I've been greeted this way; my perfect wife.
