A reply to Geno's "The Dawning Of Time"
THE PASSING OF TIME.

A man had chosen wisely when he placed words on a page
And began a battle only two could fight.
Between these two combatants a mediator ends each stage
By judging each man's quill and poetic might.

The challenge had been set to guess the token we both share
A "timepiece" was the answer to the rhyme.
It must return post haste from whence it came (and once was there)
Let's now present "The passing of the time".

When a half full phase appears upon the bow in twilight just
And the occupant is there to serve my needs,
I will set in stone the point to pass, a stranger I must trust,
I tithe the bond, and a spectre takes the lead.

A trusting servant seeks your hand and submits to you in faith
A package locked behind metallic doors.
When birth seal placed on parchment states "Your honour is still safe"
At last the precious token will be yours.
