A young girl's story of how her innocence was stolen.
SHE CRIES AT NIGHT

She was so young and innocent,
till he took it all away.
She was full of hopes and dreams
till he crossed the line that day.
Her eyes once wide and bright,
are now dull and seemingly lost.
He didn't try to hold back anymore,
no matter what the cost.

She couldn't make him stop.
She couldn't tell him no.
She just cried the pain away,
and waited for him to go.
As soon as he was out of sight,
she climbed out of her bed.
She packed her things and wiped her tears,
cursed life and wished for death.

She cries at night, when thoughts of him
come running through her mind.
She cries at night, for the mother
that she had to leave behind.
She cries at night, as she prays for God
to take her life away.
She cries at night, wishing that someone
would have been at home that day.

Headed for the city,
she really had no clue.
The long hard road ahead,
or the things she'd have to do.
Thumbing down a ride,
she got into his car.
He said he'd take her anywhere,
but he didn't take her far.

She couldn't make him stop.
She couldn't tell him no.
She tried fight him off,
but he wasn't ready to go.
As soon as he was out of sight,
she crawled from the street.
She grabbed her things and wiped her tears,
then she got up on her feet.

She cries at night, when thoughts of him
come running through her mind.
She cries at night, for the mother
that she had to leave behind.
She cries at night, praying for God to come
and take her life away.
She cries at night, wishing that someone
would have been at home that day.

Many months since then,
her hopes and dreams all gone.
She wanders through the streets,
getting paid for what he'd done.
She goes to the alley,
where she'd gone so many times.
She's had enough of this life,
and other peoples crimes.

She had to make it stop.
She couldn't take no more.
She could never escape the pain,
of what happened to her before.
As soon as she was all alone,
she opened up her vein.
She let her tears run down,
as she washed away her pain.

She cries  tonight, as thoughts of him
come running through her mind.
She cries tonight, for the mother
that she had to leave behind.
She cries tonight, wishing someone
would have been at home that day.
She cries tonight, thanking God,
for taking life away.
