Musings on when I considered myself a grown up.
Who knew it would take 34 years to finally feel like a grown up?  There are certain ages that are supposed to bring significant personal changes.  Like 16, now I can drive.  Then 18, now I can vote.  And of course 21, now I can drink.  Not that I do, but the point is I was legal!

I am not sure what age is considered grown up.  Maybe it’s 26?  You have had awhile since high school and you are approaching 30; which is another milestone.  I knew a woman who closed herself in her bedroom and cried the day she turned 30.

But now I’m getting off track.  For me it was 34.  I have owned my first new car for 1 year, and have been living in my own house for 6 months.  Oh my goodness, I bought a house!

So is it responsibility that makes you a grown up?  I think maybe it is for me.  I like establishing my own roots and dealing with the consequences of my own actions.  It makes me think differently and makes me want to act differently.  I find myself thinking about the future and how I affect the lives of the people around me.

I stand tall, because I am a grown up!
