IT DESCRIBES A POINT IN MY LIFE I'VE COME TO.
Lord, I sure hate to trouble you,
but I don't know what else to do.
I've got a daughter fighting in a foreign land,
that goes to sleep with a rifle in her hand.
She chose to go and help out Uncle Sam,
I can't do enough for her from where I am.

My son has been a Godsend but you know
He has his share of problems even so.
He's had his heart broken a time or two,
a dead end job and no money to name a few.
Sometimes it's hard to know where to begin,
to be a dad, a mentor, and a friend.

Lord, help me be the man that each one of them needs.
Walk me down each new road where ever it may lead.
Give me strength and hold my hand till I reach the end.
'Cause I don't know how to be
This many men.

My oldest girls a single mom of two,
how to make it on her own, she ain't got a clue.
She smiles but the happiness is gone,
since the men that she loved all did her wrong.
She put all her hopes in a wedding ring,
Lord, help me fix an angels broken wing.

The grandkids are caught up in it all
and they just need a soft spot when they fall.
A man they can trust and believe,
will always stand his ground and never leave.
I know we all must pay our dues,
Lord, show me how to wear this many shoes.

Lord, help me be the man that each one of them needs.
Walk me down each new road where ever it may lead.
Give me strength and hold my hand till I reach end.
'Cause I don't know how to be
This many men.
