conflicted emotions, *revised* part 3 of the series
How do I tell you
The thoughts in my head
Of the emotional whirlwind
After we shared a bed

There is so much I feel, that I want to express
But I do not want to cause you distress
I need to know how you sincerely feel too
So I can proceed, be a good friend to you

What I am hoping to hear, IF it’s true
Is that you feel as strongly as I do for you
Maybe you contemplated how it could be
The prospect of sharing your life with me

Even if circumstances dictated
A quick end, our romance ill-fated
Knowing that there was a moment when
We both wanted the same thing, but then
Reality seeped in and we took a good look
Realized our lives weren’t some romantic book

Just tell me, dear friend, what do you see
Be transparent and vulnerable with me
Trust that my love will never depart
Forever you have a piece of my heart
I want us to always be the best of friends
The kind that withstand even the strongest winds

What we have shared is a gift, quite rare
Please know in your heart I will always be there
Whatever you need, even girlfriend advice
Just ask for it, I will not even think twice
You mean more to me than a romantic fantasy
My lover, my friend, whatever you choose to be.
