Thoughts of strength and freedom...someday
She stood there. She stood waiting for the sharp edges to welt her skin as they had
always done in the past. She would not wince. She stood there silently.

She pulled away. She tried in vain to escape the vice entrenched in her arm that
inevitably would bind her to the force. She pulled away. She learned futility.

She cried her defense. She used justice as a shield to find it was ineffective in her
protection She had no justification. She forged a valuless voice.

She bartered forgiveness. She offered herself up to the force that held her only to
be mocked by its strength. She presented more. She became worthless.

She knew the pain. She understood the consequences of her words and actions and
those that were not her own. She resigned. She accepted the inevitable.

She felt rejected. She intrinsically knew she was not as whole and desired as
others were around her. She was not accepted. She did not belong.

She took it all. She felt the stinging pain and insurrmountable joy with each stroke
across her hardening skin. She felt no regret. She crafted the future.

She stood there. She understood the meaning of obedience yet heard the call of
independence. She would not cry but fly. Someday.
