"Through The Windowpane"

The Mountain Said

The mountain said unto the cloud,
" I like the view from here."
The wind arrived and howled so loud
and said, " I like it clear. "

And as the wind had met its ends,
it turned into a breeze,
soft caresses for its friends;
the branches of the trees.

Then the mountain saw the sea,
with gentle ocean tide,
and wondered where the wind would be
when earth and sea collide.

The moon was shining big and bright,
its silver beams earthbound;
luring all the waves at night,
a soft and graceful sound.

Soon the night would have to run,
the mountain shed no tears,
for in the dawn a brand new sun;
would wash away its fears.
