A 'naga uta' poem about 'the sea' written for "The Writer's Cramp"
I come to the sea
To take in a saline breath
And I find myself
Indulging in the pleasure
Of the crashing waves,
Effervescent, inconstant.

I look above me
As I hear a symphony
Of seagulls passing
Flying high upon a breeze.

The sand at my feet--
A countless tiny pillows
Welcoming my skin.

I gaze at the horizon
An infinite view
How grand and magnificent!
The perfect backdrop
To a gentle orange sun
Carefully hiding
Beneath a turquoise blanket
Of an everchanging sea.
