True story of Preston's Prototype.
That old Preston Tucker kept to his word;
The car of the future just then occurred.
Slick disk brakes and the fuel injection’s whine,
Made a beautiful sound off the assembly line.

3 bright headlights lit up an entire street.
The  first seatbelt ever held you to the seat.
Extra cargo space was locked up in the hood;
The purring V6 engine in the trunk sounded good.

The Tucker Torpedo had a streamlined design.
Faster than the cops, it could escape from a fine.
His old dream came true, this modern car was there,
But a crooked politician stole the dream without a care.

The factory closed before their chance to sell,
Tucker tipped his hat for a kind “farewell”.
The public was angry, they all went irate.
That was all to be seen of the Tucker 48’.
