Do I really want that?
Made for me by a very dear sister.


Go away, leave me alone!
I’d prefer living on my own.
There’s no place for you in my heart.
We’re better off living apart.
Go away!

You only brought me heartache and gloom.
There’s more to life than sharing a bedroom.
Believe me when I repeatedly say,
“Leave me alone. Just go away!”
Go away!

Why can’t I hate you, cast you aside;
forget the memories that in my mind reside?
Do I really mean it when I say,
“Just leave me alone and go away?”
Go away?

Thinking it out, I know I’m fooling myself.
Like an old book, I’ve put my heart on a shelf.
I realize I can’t go on living this way,
but do I really want you to go away?
Go away?

At times what seems safest isn’t the best.
Life’s a gamble, and I’m put to the test.
Now I know I don’t mean it when I say,
“Just leave me alone and go away.”
Go away?


Go away?…maybe another day,
but tonight I want you to stay.
