I am suffering by living a secret life. I simply desire to be open but fear it too much.
This land is dead,
Life is not here.

I sit on the river bed,
The icy river bed.

I desire to be there,
The other banks.

My heart lays there,
Here I am heartless.

Living in darkness,
Living in a lie.

The other side is beautiful,
It is where the rainbow shines.

The other is of truth,
This is of deceit.

The river separates us,
My truth and my mask.

The rainbow is here,
But only in my heart.

It is imbedded in my soul,
From birth it has been.

Yet, I deny,
I don't know why.

One day I will remove my mask,
I will be cast to the other side.

Where beauty lies,
And happiness never dies.
