Worship the Mighty Potato Chip

Roll out the red carpets,
Let the trumpets be heard,
For today is a celebration,
You may find absurd.

Worship every single flavour,
Made for us to taste and savour.
Take to the streets and march in the parade,
Hold your packets high, don’t be afraid.

National Potato Chip Day, everybody cheer.
National Potato Chip Day, it’s finally here.
Light your candles, recite your chants.
Run around the house and dance in your pants.

You know the rules that must be obeyed,
You cannot stop eating until the day begins to fade.
Crunching and munching is certainly a must,
No stopping, even if your trousers may bust.

Party with friends, open the champagne.
Toast the potato chip, even the plain.
As the day ends, and there’s nothing but quiet.
Think about tomorrow,
And starting that diet.
