Left home again...
"Great!" Friday night rolled around
and my friends called from the Ground Round.
"Hey Lou, want to join us in a drinking bout?"
"Love to, but it's girls' night out."
I was home with my wife's three year old,
and our four month baby who had a head cold.

Sure I would have loved to go out,
but as a dad I am pretty devout.
I put in a Barney video for the boy,
who started to jump and laugh with joy.
I sat with Emily rubbing her back,
glad she didn't have a cough and hack.

I had both kids in bed by eight,
made a snack, in front of the TV I ate.
I turned on the Weather Channel,
napped there in pajama bottoms; flannel.
I didn't mind staying home lounging about,
while my wife enjoyed her night out.
