As I grope and falter in darkness, He shows me light and holds my hand.
A FLICKER OF LIGHT:a sonnet--award winner

In darkness, hesitating, I shuttle
From one faltering step to another.
What do I see there in the dark tunnel?
A flicker of light in a far corner.

What light is that coming as a godsend
In moments of pain and gloom and despair?
I struggle towards it across a bend,
On my lips an honest and fervent prayer.

I stumble on a stone but ere I fall,
Unknowingly into a pit like hell,
The name of Lord my lips instantly call
And he holds me, from his touch I can tell.

The thought that he is always there with me,
Makes me resume with courage my journey.
