A poem written for my friend Cathy shortly after her death.
"Hold onto your dreams..."
do the dead have dreams?
Are they kept company in their lonely places
by sweet fantasies that close their eyes to the living
and the silent vigil that we keep over them?
Time turns, and becomes tomorrow
and we grow older
as the dead stay the same forever.
Life must go on
just not for them.
