This is a true story of sorts.
I close my eyes and there you wait
Open arms and a smile on your face.
"What took so long for you to return?"
You dont need to speak, I can read all your words in your eyes.

Hours upon hours we drift through the night
Riding on bikes to secret forests,
Picnics in the mist.
I lay in your arms, so warm and so comforting,
And almost forget daybreak.

But my eyes begin to flutter,
The smells of breakfast pulling at my mind.
The dream begins to fade as I say my goodbyes.
I pull away, your eyes show sorrow.
"I love you," they say.

And I awake.
I am alone through the day,
But I think of your face
And your warm embrace.
Oh how I wait for sleep to take over tonight.

As my eye lids fall
I wait for your presence.
You are late, thats never happened before.
And your eyes show sorrow,
and falling tears.

"Tonight is our last my dear, my love.
When you awake you will dream of me no more."
This scene is different tonight.
Altered in a way I didnt notice till now.

It is cold and still
The dreamed atmosphere holds change.
But you grab my hand in a most tender way,
And guide me through our last night.

We sit and we stare as the dreampt scenery begins to fade,
The yet unexplored hills and sky begin to melt together.
I press against your body,
Hoping to find it solid, but you begin to fade as well.

My eyes begin to flutter,
The smells of breakfast pulling at my mind.
The dream begins to fade but I refuse to say goodbye.
"This can't be the end!
I only knew you for so little a time!"

"Dont fret my dear, my love, my sweet,
The time will come and we will meet once more.
I love you my dear, dont ever forget
The time we shared in dreamland."

I awake and am alone all through the day.
Evening falls and I close my eyes,
But you are not there,
Just like you promised
Last night was our last.

I still go to sleep each night,
Hoping you will have returned.
But as time wears on
The image of your face becomes harder and harder to see.
The feel of your kisses are only wishes now.
Oh how I loved you,
How I miss you now.
