the innocence of children
Pitter, patter of little feet
the world so eager to meet
unaware of the danger ahead
a child snuggles into bed

Early next morning, a bright sunny day
he is always ready to play
no matter the shouting and bickering that  may arise
a child refuses to submit to cries

Young, innocent and pure
world damnation they willingly endure
no knowledge of violence, hostility and destruction
they symbolize hope, peace and reconstruction

If parents can recall
they too were once very small
in search of security and affection
to lead them in the right direction

So teach them wisdom, faith and love
for they are God's children sent from above
they are to transform the world into a better place
help them unite the human race
