A journal entry that resulted in a poem
Today I tear down the walls
break down the bars
remove the bandages
that hide my scars.
They're war wounds,
rhythmic tunes
telling who I am
melodramatic pitches
even I can't understand.
Can I trust you
to handle the combusted
and fragmented pieces of my heart?
Can you even comprehend
the depth and severity of my scars?
It's a story housed inside me,
bathed in insecurity
Can you handle it?
cause I can't forget...
God please free me from the pain within
Father, free me from my families sin.
Tomorrow, I'll begin to build again,
to keep out those I thought I could let in.
