In this ever changing world, does the day we were 'born' have any significance?
Every day is a birthday - A Shakespearean Sonnet

A birthday! Parties filled with joy and mirth!
A lot of treats to give, and gifts to get!
My near and dear, rejoice my day of birth
I cried, therefore I was. Flesh, blood and breath.

But think again... is that what birth's about?
No person came to be, in just one day.
A life is made not, when a babe pops out.
A tot is just a lump of shapeless clay.

Each day, a brand new person will emerge
The lessons we learn will change us for sure
The only constant... change, the primal urge
For better or for worse, as curse or cure

Rejoice this day! And then again! Encore!
For every day, you will be born once more.

My first Shakespearean Sonnet!

Please do give feedback, I need to know whether my sonnet 'worked'. *Smile*
